
A Day Trip to Macclesfield


Description:
This day trip features two different attractions included in your ticket price. Macclesfield is a small neighbouring town of Manchester. Your dedicated coach driver will transport you from Manchester to your first destination, Paradise Mill & Silk Museum.
The Silk Museum reveals Macclesfield’s 300-year story as a global centre for silk production, textiles and design. Discover the unique collection of machines and learn about the town’s rich industrial heritage. The Paradise Mill offer insights to all aspects of Mill life and silk production, from the beauty of the textiles, the social history and the global phenomenon of silk.
The coach will then depart The Silk Museum, heading to Jodrell Bank Observatory. For over 75 years, Jodrell Bank has been at the forefront of understanding space and at the heart of ground breaking discoveries and world-leading research. Jodrell Bank’s inspirational story includes revolutionary scientific discoveries, amazing feats of engineering, the dawn of the Space Age and the creation of the Grade I listed Lovell Telescope, an icon for science and engineering. Today Jodrell Bank Observatory is owned and managed by the University of Manchester and is a world-leading science research institute, with scientists working at the cutting edge of modern astrophysics.
This day trip is self guided and the cost includes transport to both attractions from Manchester with a return and your entry tickets. Please note no food or refreshments are included in your ticket price. Both locations have cafes onsite.
Macclesfield is approximately 45 minutes from Manchester by coach.
The coach from Manchester Central will depart at 9.00am arriving at The Paradise Mill & Silk Museum at approximately 10.00am. The coach will depart at 1.00pm arriving at Jodrell Bank at approximately 1.30pm. The coach will depart Jodrell Bank at 4.30pm arriving back in Manchester for approximately 5.30pm-6.00pm.
This self guided, multi stop day trip is £96 (£80+VAT) per person.
